Known Patterns

Think about how you recognize your own handwriting, or the feel of your home, or the sound of your favorite song. There's an immediate, unmistakable quality of "yes, this." This is how Known patterns present themselves in the three-body structure.

Direct Experiential Clarity

Known patterns have an immediacy you can't miss:

  • Like how you know you're hungry

  • When you recognize a friend's voice

  • As you feel the ground under your feet

  • While you read and understand these words

Notice right now: What's unmistakably present in your experience? The warmth of your tea cup, perhaps? The clarity of morning awareness?

Consistent Reproducibility

Known patterns can be reliably accessed:

  • You can recall them at will

  • They work the same way each time

  • Their behavior is predictable

  • Their presence is verifiable

Think about how you:

  • Make your morning tea

  • Navigate your home in the dark

  • Use familiar tools

  • Engage with routine tasks

Stable Self-Reference

Known patterns maintain their identity:

  • You can return to them

  • They feel familiar

  • They serve as reference points

  • They provide grounding

Experience this now:

  • Feel your breath

  • Notice your posture

  • Sense your attention

  • Recognize your awareness

KEY SIGN: Can be reliably accessed/demonstrated

This is the crucial indicator - Known patterns are available when needed. Not just theoretically, but practically:

  • You can show them to others

  • You can work with them directly

  • You can depend on their behavior

  • You can build with them

Practical Application

Try this exercise:

  1. In your immediate experience, identify:

    • Three physical Known patterns

    • Three mental Known patterns

    • Three emotional Known patterns

  2. For each one, verify:

    • Can you access it at will?

    • Is it consistently present?

    • Does it maintain its identity?

    • Can you demonstrate it?

Working With Known Patterns

Remember:

  • Known doesn't mean unchanging

  • It means directly accessible

  • It provides foundation

  • It enables navigation

  • It supports growth

The goal isn't to make everything Known, but to maintain healthy relationship with what is Known while allowing it to serve its natural function in the larger pattern.
